loans can

by the Farm Improvement and Marketing Co-operatives Loans
Act (FIMCLA).

Farm Improvement Loans
In order to qualify for a Farm Improvement Loan, an applicant
must meet the definition of farmer. The individual must be
performing a farming activity. Eligible loans include equipment,
building/construction, land, livestock (but not feeders).
The major benefits to the member include:
- Maximum repayment for all purposes is 10 years with the
exception of land, which is 15 years
- Only 20% down payment required.
